If a quote does not separate them, ask which parts it covers. ### How much does a website cost? Enough of the price depends on scope that any single number is misleading. A small brochure site built on an existing theme sits at the low end; a custom store with integrations, migration and multiple languages sits an order of magnitude higher. What moves the number most is not page count but the amount of custom logic, the number of systems it has to talk to, and how much content has to be migrated. Our pricing guide breaks the ranges down by project type. ### Should I use a website builder, WordPress or a custom build? Match the tool to the ceiling you expect to hit. A builder is fastest and cheapest until you need something it does not do. WordPress and similar systems cover most content and small-commerce cases with a large plugin ecosystem and a maintenance burden that comes with it. A custom build is worth it when the site is the product, or when specific integrations and performance targets rule the alternatives out. Switching later is always more expensive than choosing correctly now. ### How long does it take to build a website? A small site on an existing theme is typically a few weeks. A mid-sized custom site is usually two to four months. Stores and web applications take longer, and the schedule slips for the same reason nearly every time: content. Text, photographs and product data are almost always the critical path, so the fastest way to hold a launch date is to have the content ready before the build starts. ### How do I choose a website developer? Ask for work at your scale rather than their best-looking work, and speak to at least one previous client about how the project went when something went wrong.
